Online ACCA-SETS Global Audit Simulation Programme

Isha Agarwal, a student of semester 6th of Bachelor of Commerce (honours) Applied Accounting & Finance, ACCA accredited programme of the IIS Deemed to be University,attended the Global Audit Simulation Program which is conducted by SunwayTes in Malaysia every year. This year students of 5 countries participated in the programmei.e. Malaysia, India, China, Vietnam and Indonesia. But this June 2021, Program was conducted online due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The program duration was of 9 days from 13^th -21st June 2021. 

On the 1st day participants were introduced to Sunway TES and the organizing team. On the 2nd day participants were explained about the work which they were suppose to do for the next whole week. This year the workshop was conducted by EY. Isha Agarwal’s  team was one of the winning teams in this workshop. From the 3rd day onwards,they were grouped in small-small teams of 10 members and then they were assigned with a case study of a Company which had to be audited during the whole week. There were 29 teams for this competition. In Isha’s team there were 10 students from which 2 were Indians and rest 8 were Malaysians and she was the Assistant team leader of the team. On the last day there was a closing ceremony in which they declared the winning teams and talked about the performance of the students. 

From India 10 students were selected to attend this Global Audit Simulation Program and among these 10 students, 4 students were selected by ISDC to represent India and Isha was one of those lucky students who were selected by ISDC. It gave a good experience of how things work in Audit world and how it feels to act like an Auditor. It was a wonderful and an enduring exposure for all the participants.
