We heartily congratulate our students of B.Com. (Hons.) Professional for their outstanding performance in the CS Foundation , CS Executive and CS Professional Exams held in December, 2013. Out of twenty four students who appeared for the CS Foundation exam, twenty three cleared .Three students cleared both the groups of CS Executive and seven cleared one group in first attempt. The Department of Accounting and Taxation of The IIS University organized its first industrial tour for the B. Com professional students to Udaipur, Banswara and Kumbhalgarh. The tour was scheduled from 4th April to 7th April, 2013 which was flagged off from the University campus.
The key emphasis in the industrial tour was to equip the students with the way manufacturing is done, the laws applicable in different industries, the export procedures, etc. And to study all this the students visited RSWM Limited, popularly known for its brand Mayur suitings and Hydel power station in Banswara.
The students also visited the different tourist spots in Udaipur like Moti magri, saheliyo Ki Baadi, Fatehsagar Lake, City palace, Local markets. They were also taken to a nearby picnic spot cum tourist destination, kumbalgarh fort, which is well-known for its beauty.
The students also got a chance to interact with each other and to make them enjoy a pool side DJ Bash was also prearranged. From the start point to the end point, it was ensured that the students enjoy every minute together.
It was knowledgeable as well as anunforgettable experience for all the students.
The Guest Lecture was organized on 4th September 2013 by the department of accounting and taxation in the A.V. Hall of the IIS University. The speaker for the day was Dr. Anil Mehta, Professor, Department of Business Administration, University of Rajasthan. The theme of the guest lecture was Personality Development and the same was attended by under graduate students of the commerce faculty. Dr. Anita Chaturvedi, Additional Head, Dept. of Accounting and Taxation, The IIS University welcomed him by presenting him a bouquet. During the course of 1 hour, Prof. Mehta emphasized that personality development is development of organised pattern of behaviors and attitudes. Also, he said that bringing about a change in our personalities is difficult but with passion and determination, one could change. He further elaborated on the seven dimensions of human personality, which are as follows: · Physical · Emotional · Familial · Professional · Spiritual · Mental · Social According to Dr. Mehta, the factors that shape up our personality are biological factors, environment and various situations that we face while growing up. The students got some tips on how to enhance various aspects of their personality. They were advised to have role models, be positive, seek good in past, present and future, strengthening their morality and ethics. They were also taught to nurture relationships, value friendships and express gratitude. The Dean of the commerce faculty Prof. M. K. Sharma, who also delivered the closing note at the event, also attended the lecture. The lecture was a huge success and the students went back enlightened and inspired with some tips on how to shape their personality.
The University is planning to start CA-CPT classes (only for Mathematics) on campus tentatively from 21 August 2013 to 20 November 2013 between 1.30 pm & 2.30 pm. All those students who are interested in attending these classes are required to get themselves enrolled by filling up the registration form available at the University Reception and deposit the same with requisite fee of Rs. 3000/- latest by 10 August 2013. Please note that the batch will commence only if 15 students get enrolled.
