Webinar on "Professional Careers During and Post COVID"
The IIS (Deemed to be) University organized a webinar on Professional Careers During and Post COVID on 16th July,2020 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. through Zoom platform.
The objective of the session was to inform and aware the aspiring students of undergraduate programmes in Commerce about the opportunities available to them and various professional courses that can be pursued. The target students were 12th appeared or cleared students and almost 175 students got registered themselves.
The speaker for the session was CA Sunny Jain. The session broadly focused on aiding the students in exploring career opportunities in commerce field after Class XII. It focused on safe learning modes to continue a hassle free career growth during and post pandemic.
He shared his own story as a student with the students. He talked about the confusion of students faced by students after Class XII. He shared his journey of becoming CA. He talked about the importance of making a good choice. He told the students the factors for career selection namely, Values, Interest, Aptitude, Personality. All the factors equally influencing the career choice.
He focused on importance of SWOT Analysis and explore opportunities during COVID. He discussed about the difference between a teacher and mentor. Role of Mentor in inspiring a person's path in life.
He discussed courses for graduation in commerce namely B. Com and BBA. The students came to know about various professional courses as well such as CA, CS, CMA. They were made aware about the options available after pursuing professional courses. Other courses like Hotel Management, BCA, CLAT, Journalism, Actuarial Science, UPSC, ACCA, MBA etc.
He discussed the ABCDE Principles for Selecting Best Career. A for Attitude/Altitude, B for Basics, C for Consistent Effort, D for Dedication/Discipline/ Determination, E for Enjoying what you want to do.
The last part of the session was Question and Answer session where the doubts of students were taken up for discussion.
The session was enlightening and informative for the students. Around 70 students actively participated throughout the session. The students were able to know about various options available to students in future and felt highly motivated.
