One day workshop on ‘How to prepare a research plan proposal’
A workshop was organised on 2nd August , 2019 at The IIS University , Jaipur on the topic ‘How to prepare a research plan proposal’ . All the commerce students were a part of the elucidative programme . The event started with the felicitation of the guest speaker Professor Balwinder Singh . He acquainted the students with the objective and goals of the workshop. He taught them about the following points in detail along with some really interesting examples:
- Importance of communication and thinking in research
- Difference in work done by researchers with passion and with compulsion
- How to search ‘ Researchable topics ’ by limiting the topic , reading , experiencing , observing the environment around , discussing and consulting .
- Compulsion of theory behind a topic
- Important to identify research gap as repeated researches are of no use
- Importance of sources of information [ Example – costly data or data needed includes controversial questions which nobody is ready to answer]
- How to frame a Questionnaire
- Various online sites where E- Books , Thesis , Research Papers can easily be downloaded.
- Steps involved in research process
He concluded the session by giving an inspiring message of how passion in researcher and quality of work done by him plays an important part in research .
This workshop proved to be a time investing one as it helped students in enhancing their knowledge in the field of research as in how a research topic is to be decided , what all are the steps involved in this process , from where to study the research papers , and sites where free access to data and thesis are available.
