3 Days Workshop on Goods and Services Tax
 
The Department of Accounting and Taxation Department of the IIS (Deemed to be University) organised a 3 days GST workshop from 26th February to 28th February 2020. The session was taken by a team of Chartered Accountants from R Sogani and Associates, Jaipur. The workshop mainly covered the concepts related to return filing, registration, E-way Bills and refund under GST law.
 
Day 1: 26-02-2020
The first day activities of the workshop were conducted by CA Keshav Gupta. He briefly discussed the concept of supply and charging the event under GST. He covered the concepts related to registrations under GST and how to get registered under the GST Act on the common portal. He also conducted a practical registration session to make students understand the registration process conveniently.
 
Day 2: 27-02-2020
CA Arun Soni and Mr. Vijay Chandolia from R. Sogani and Associates conducted the second day GST session which mainly focused on return filing. The two experts discussed in detail the process of filing forms GSTR-1 and GSTR-3B. He also discussed the usage and need of Credit notes and utilisation of Input Tax Credit. The session ended with an assessment for students about the basics of GST.
Day 3: 28-02-2020
The final day session was conducted by CA Keshav Gupta and Mr. Vijay Chandolia wherein GSTR-9, e way bills and refunds were discussed in detail. A quiz was also held in the end where Rishika Singhal of B. Com. (Hons.) (ATG) stood first, Daksha Khanna of B. Com(Hons) (CS) stood second and Tanisha Vijay of B. Com(Hons) (CS) stood third.
In a nutshell, the workshop was a very enlightening and informative for the students. They were able to learn how to apply their theoretical knowledge practically.
