ACCA WORKSHOP

On July 31st, 2015, the department of Accounting and Taxation organised a seminar, in the Vinayak Hall of the IIS University, for students pursuing graduation in the field of Commerce. The key note speaker for the seminar was Mr. Noor Khushal, Business Relationship Manager, ACCA, Mumbai. He spoke about a career in accounting through ACCA qualification which is an Association of Chartered Certified Accountants, and is a global body for professional accountants, with an apt platform for aspirants of this dynamic course.
The seminar began with a video presentation stating certain facts and figures of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants. Interestingly presented, this video motivated aspirants to become an ACCA member. The said video also briefed students about the 14 exams one needs to get through to get an ACCA qualification and its 2 major level, namely; Fundamental and Professional.
Mr. Khushal also discussed with the students about the various benefits of this field. He explained them how they can get exemptions for the first six papers of the qualification process, as the syllabus of B.Com (Professional) AAF in the IIS University would be accorded with that of ACCA. The course provides the students with the required subjects knowledge and motivates them to gain work experience of 3 years along with their graduation.
Mr. Khushal made the students aware of ACCA employers and its association with multinationals like Genpact, Microsoft, Phillips, KPMG, BDO etc.
The seminar ended with a question-answer session that helped the students to resolve their queries. In the end the students were also given a toll free number (000-800-100-4298) and a website address (www.accaglobal.com) to fulfil their further requirements and queries.
In sum, the seminar was extremely informative as well as interesting because of its catchy video presentations, and Mr. Noor Khushal’s address which was highly motivating and influential.
